ORO VALLEY HISTORY:
Oro Valley, just located on the north side of Tucson Arizona, is a family oriented community with beautiful mountain views, a great school system, an impressive police team, while still continuing to expand creating retail and business opportunities. This town has also been rated amongst one of the safest here in Arizona, and prides itself for having a variety of cultural and recreational experiences within this metropolitan city.
BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY IN ORO VALLEY:
When it comes to the business industry, Oro Valley expects to nearly double its size by the year 2010. Being home to some of the best four star resorts, Oro Valley residents have opportunities to become apart of this employment field. This community has resort and country club employers like Honeywell, Sheraton El Conquisador, Securaplane, Canguard Automation, and Canyon Del Oro High School. Oro Valley residents also tend to travel in or around Tucson for fine dining, shopping, services, and great employment opportunities.
ORO VALLEY STATISTICS:
Oro Valley Arizona, located in Pima County, homes over 37 thousand people on its 31.9 square mile city. Incorporated in 1974, Oro Valley has elevation of 2,600 feet and on average have temperature highs of 102 in the summer, and lows of 34 in the winter months. On average, yearly precipitation is 11 inches of rain.
Being very affordable to live, the median household income to live in Oro Valley is $61,037 and residence only spends 2% on city sales tax on average. Most residents in Oro Valley are middle aged averaging on 45 years old, making Oro Valley a great place for families and retirees to live.
ORO VALLEY ACTIVITIES AND ATTRACTIONS:
Oro Valley is full of different attractions that suit visitors and residents of all ages.
Catelina State Park – Beautiful pine covered mountains known as “La Iglesia” by Spaniards due to its church like appearance. This is one of the most scenic and recreational attractions located in Oro Valley.
Picacho Peak State Park – Also a short drive from Oro Valley, this park is beautiful to visit especially during the summer time
For some other attractions in or around Oro Valley, you may want to check out the Old Tucson Studios, San Xavier Mission, Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, Sagurao National Monument West, and Biosphere 2, a 3 arch model of the Earth’s eco-system. With so many creative minds, Oro Valley encourages art and artistic museums. Oro Valley hosts an annual contest known as “Art in Oro Valley,” and the Oro Valley Festival of the Arts.
